網民前日發起眾籌，在全球九個國家或地區、最少12份報章首頁或內頁刊登公開信，要求G20國領袖關注香港《逃犯條例》修訂問題及警方暴力鎮壓示威者。短短半日，活動已籌得逾673萬元，登報後餘款將會撥捐「反送中受傷被捕者人道支援基金」。
截至昨日，已落實刊登公開信的報章來自九個國家或地區、共12份報章，包括美國《華盛頓郵報》及《紐約時報》、英國《金融時報》、日本《讀賣新聞》、澳洲、比利時、加拿大、德國、南韓及台灣等報章。
Over HK$6.73 million has been raised through a crowdfunding campaign to place front-page newspaper ads in international newspapers urging readers to pressure G20 leaders to act over Hong Kong’s extradition law crisis. The fundraiser achieved its original HK$3m goal within hours.
As of yesterday, open letters will be published in12 newspapers in 9 countries or regions, including the US Washington Post and New York Times, the British Financial Times, Japan Yomiuri Shimbun, and newspapers in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, South Korea and Taiwan.
