A woman prays for blessing at Tai Shu Ha Tin Hau Temple, meaning ‘temple under a big tree’, which was built around 1786 some 350 years ago. The temple is so named because it is shaded by a tall old tree. The Temple used to be surrounded by sea. Tin Hau, Goddess of Heaven, is the protector of fishermen ensuring their sailings are safe.
