The former ATV (Asian Television) studios is in Ho Chung, just off Hiram’s Highway on the way to Sai Kung and is now being taken over by nature and graffiti.
It was abandoned in 2007 and quickly became popular amongst urban explorers and graffiti artists, who have covered all the walls with their artwork.
The sun-faded vintage logo of ATV on the facade serves as the only reminder of the former TV company which was shut down on 1 April 2015. It failed as news programmes broadcast by ATV were deemed by some observers to have taken on a pro-Beijing bias, reporting news involving pro-democracy political forces in Hong Kong in a negative light.
