A giant, purple pig mural is on the wall of a village house in the partially abandoned village of Lo So Shing on Lamma Island. The village is more than 300 years old and the early settlers were mostly farmers. It’s only school closed in 2004 due to a lack of students.
Just 20 minutes by ferry from busy Central business district, Lamma is an oasis for locals and visitors alike, with hiking trails, beaches, seafood restaurants and abandoned villages.
